Junior Pitch Length
- Understanding how pitch length affects technique in junior cricketer has been pivotal in the ECB’s decision to shorten pitch lengths in junior pitch lengths. A shorter, more optimal pitch lengths for different ages has been shown to enable bowlers to pitch the ball on a good length while maintaining a ball release posture similar to elite bowlers. This has the added benefit of providing a more appropriate challenge for batters and has led to greater involvement for fielders.
