Governor Vacancies at Holywell Primary Academy Trust, º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ

Holywell Primary Academy Trust is looking to appoint two governors to the governing board. Holywell School is a single academy trust which works in collaboration with the º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Primary Academies Partnership (LPAP). The governing body prides itself in being a highly effective team with many motivated governors driving the strategy of a high achieving school.

The School

Holywell School is a popular two form entry school with an age range of 4 -11 years. In July we had a very successful OFSTED visit.

The Role

We are looking for applications from candidates who understand, or know they can acquire understanding of effective school governance including the role of policies and procedures in effective running of the school and protecting and educating the children. An interest in education is a requirement and we are looking for skills in policy and procedure as well as cyber-security and staff/student well-being. Other expertise is also welcomed as we have a wide range of areas of responsibility.

These are volunteer roles which require a reasonable time commitment.

The Process

In the first instance, please contact the chair of governors (Rob Seager) at chair@holywell.leics.sch.uk to express an interest. He will be happy to arrange a meeting with you to discuss the role and your potential contribution. At this meeting he will explain how the governing body functions and the activities involved. Ideally, this meeting will be in person.

If you are still interested then we would offer a school visit to meet the head teacher and to see the school. We would also offer attendance at a full governing body meeting so that you can meet the governors and get a better understanding of the role. Formal nomination for appointment is then by mutual agreement.
