Equality Impact Assessment Support Sessions

º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ this event

An Equality Impact Assessment (EIA) helps the University make sure our policies, procedures and practices do what they are intended to do and are inclusive for staff, students and visitors. They also enable us to provide an audit trail that we have met our legal obligations.

EIAs allow us to look for opportunities to promote equality that may have previously been missed, as well as assessing negative or adverse impacts that can be removed or mitigated against, where possible, in project, policy or process etc. change.

By carrying out EIAs, you are working in line with and being compliant with the Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED) in the Equality Act 2010 in England, Scotland, and Wales. The duty places the requirement on public authorities and institutions to take action to reduce inequalities in their area.
EDI services has updated EIA guidance for members of the º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ community.

To support you with understanding and acting on your responsibilities and obligations, EDI services will be hosting monthly EIA support sessions. The next EIA support session will take place on Tuesday 5 November in Hazlerigg Building 201.2.12.
