East Midlands in Bloom (EMIB) is an annual competition organised by the EMIB Regional Committee and is one of the 18 regions which compromise Britain in Bloom, a campaign organised by the Royal Horticultural Society. 

This year, at the annual awards ceremony held at St Mary’s Church, Melton Mowbray, º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ town were awarded a gold certificate and category winners, with an impressive 92/100 points. Judging criteria follows horticultural achievement, environmental responsibility and community participation, all in which º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ in Bloom scored highly.

Over the last 15 years, º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ have been one the main contributors in the º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ in Bloom campaign, which enters East Midlands in Bloom in the small city category. 

Photographic evidence for the competition is taken all year round for º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ’s ‘In Bloom’ portfolio, such as the spring bulbs on University Road and the blue bells in Burleigh Wood. Kaz Setchell, Gardens Manager at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ said: “The Estates and Facilities Management gardeners put in a great effort every year into getting the campus ready for the judging days, on top of their regular maintenance regimes.” 

º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ in Bloom were also judged in August for the national competition ‘Britain in Bloom’ with the winners being announced in October.
