º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Family Remembrance Service
On Saturday 2 November at 2pm there will be an opportunity to remember members of the º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ family, both staff and students, whose lives are memorialised by plaques in the Garden of Remembrance.
The service will contain a roll call of names of those remembered and after the service, relatives, friends and former colleagues will be able to spend time in the garden before moving to the Edward Herbert Building (EHB) for refreshments. Any student or member of staff who has previously attended a plaque dedication ceremony to remember a former colleague or student is welcome at this service.
Armistice Day Service
On Armistice Day, Monday 11 November at 10.50am-11.10am, our service will mirror other commemorative events held on this day in which we will remember all whose lives have been touched or ended by wars, including those who lost their lives during the First and Second World Wars. This ceremony will include an act of commemoration including a two-minute silence and wreath laying. Staff and students are warmly invited to attend this short, but important opportunity to gather and reflect on past sacrifices and the privilege of living in a country where peace is sustained.
The Chaplaincy would like this event to honour the stories of former and future servicemen and women who belong to our community. Lead Chaplain, Rev’d Elizabeth York, would particularly like to hear from any members of staff from the Armed Forces Network, or any students with a connection to the military, who would like to attend this event. Please get in touch as soon as possible to introduce yourself.
