Neurodiversity Celebration Week aims to recognise and celebrate the positives of diversity within neurodevelopmental conditions such as Autism, ADHD, dyslexia and various mental health conditions.
To celebrate the week Student Wellbeing and Inclusivity and the Library are working in partnership to offer activities:
The Disability Support Team will host a drop-in day on Wednesday 15 March, 9.30am-4.30pm in Library Seminar Room 1 for any students and staff wanting to learn more about neurodiversity. This may be particularly useful for students who have recently been diagnosed with ADHD, Autism or other neurodivergent conditions, or those who think they may be neurodivergent and have queries on their next steps. It will provide a supportive and welcoming opportunity to chat with staff and students in a relaxed and informal setting. There will be literature and information to take away for any next steps for support.
In conjunction with this event, the Library is highlighting books and resources that support everyone to learn more neurodiversity, as well as surfacing research that University colleagues have published in this area.
You can check out the Neurodiversity subject guide to discover digital collections, journals and books, as well links to related articles and chapters on the Research Repository.
There is a reading list that connects you to related novels, podcasts, documentaries and other resources.
There will also be a physical display in the Library between 13-22 March to showcase a selection of the books and resources.
