Trans and Non-binary support sessions for staff

Across the University and Students’ Union, there are a variety of ways to access support for those who identify as LGBT+ and those who are questioning their sexuality or gender identity.

Student Services currently offer 1-1 support and advice sessions for students, and we are delighted to announce that this free and confidential service can now be offered to our staff.

These sessions offer support and advice for transgender and non-binary staff, as well as those questioning their gender identity, in a safe and confidential space. Parents and carers can also access the service for help with those in their care. It provides space and time, as well as a friendly face and a listening ear, for staff to access support and advice in a way that is right for them.

This service is led by Lisa Vine, an LGBT+ advocate, consultant and trainer based in º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ, with almost six years of experience supporting transgender and non-binary children, teenagers and young adults. Lisa is a º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ alumna and previous Chair of the º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Students’ Union's LGBT+ Association.

Appointments are available 12pm-1pm every other Wednesday during term time. These are 50-minute appointments which can be either in person, on Microsoft Teams, or by telephone. You can choose how you would like to access support when you book. For full details and to book an appointment please use the online booking system
