Daisy graduated from the University of Exeter in 2018 with a BA (Hons) degree in History. This was followed by a MA in Criminology and Criminal Justice awarded by Lancaster University in 2019.
Daisy joined º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ in 2019 after being awarded an ESRC 1+3 Studentship, completing an MSc in Social Science Research in 2020 before beginning her PhD in the same year. Daisy’s PhD is supervised by Professor Steve Case and Dr Fran Azpitarte at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ, and Dr Mark Monaghan at the University of Birmingham.
Daisy’s PhD research explores substance misuse interventions targeted at children and young people in conflict with the law. Rather than simply considering the mean effect of these interventions on reducing substance misuse amongst this group, her thesis will utilise Realist methodology in order to better understand ‘what works for whom, in what circumstances, in what respects, and how?’.
Daisy’s broader research interests include substance misuse amongst children and young people, county lines activity and child criminal exploitation.
