During the day, three prizes were handed out to students that excelled during their time studying our Criminology, Sociology and joint honours programmes. Fifelomo Asaye and Sidney Jayes were both presented with the Professor Albert Cherns Memorial Prize. Isabella Wright was awarded School of Social Sciences and Humanities Community Prize.
Awarded annually to the student achieving the highest mark in the dissertation module. The Professor Albert Cherns Memorial Prize takes the form of a certificate and a £50 Amazon voucher. Professor Cherns was the founding Head of the Department of Social Sciences at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ and the prizes are presented each year at a reception held for graduates and their guests following the summer degree ceremony.
The School of Social Sciences and Humanities Community Prize is a prize to the value of £50 to a final-year criminology or sociology student who is judged to have made an exceptional extra-curricular contribution to the discipline, School, University or wider community.
