This is the first year that the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide has had a category for Criminology, and º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ has secured its place as the top institution for Criminology in the UK, with an impressive ranking of 1st place.
Other areas of Social and Policy Studies have also performed impressively. Sociology climbed two places to be ranked 4th in that category and Social Policy leapt five places to also secure its position as 4th.
The Times Good University Guide is one of the most highly regarded ranking of universities in the UK. The guide ranks universities on nine indicators – teaching quality, student satisfaction, research quality, graduate prospects, entrance qualifications held by new students, degree results achieved, student/staff ratios, service and facilities spend, and degree completion rates.
Head of Social and Policy Studies Professor Stephen Case says: "We are delighted with these outstanding successes across our range of Social and Policy Studies programmes. They are just reward for our stimulating and engaging degree schemes (developed in close cooperation with our excellent students), staff commitment to the highest quality, impact-led research and º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ's continued provision of unparalleled student support and facilities."
