This is Just What I Saw: Opening Night

  • 3 October 2019
  • 5:30pm - 7:30pm
  • Martin Hall Exhibition Space, º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ

Join us to explore and discuss Katarina Hruskova's exhibition This is Just What I Saw, the result of her Radar commissioned exploration of the legacy of pioneering arts educator Marion Richardson.

Working in collaboration with Dr Sarah Mills, Reader in Human Geography at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ, Hruskova has created a new multimedia environment for the gallery. Drawing on works produced by school-children in workshops using updated versions of Richardson's methods and featuring reproductions of materials from Marion Richardson's archive, the exhibition will both evoke and function as a pedagogical, imaginative space.

Refreshments and nibbles will be provided, and the launch will feature a conversation between Hruskova and Mills. Charting the research process they embarked on together, they will interrogate each others' ways of working and discuss the spatial, material and cultural implications of Richardson's legacy in the context of contemporary arts education and Hruskova's practice.
