Katie began her PhD at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ in October 2019 as a part- time student in the Department of English. Her research considers forms of collective agency and identities in twenty-first century feminist literature. The project is supervised by Professor Siân Adiseshiah and Dr Jennifer Cooke.

In 2018 Katie completed a MA in 21st Century Literature in the Lincoln School of Humanities and Heritage at the University of Lincoln, graduating with Distinction. During her MA Katie was awarded the School Award for Best Academic Achievement in Master of Arts in Twenty-first Century Literature.

‘An ever-expanding community of struggle’: Political Agency and Radical Collectives in Twenty-first Century Feminist Writing

Katie’s research considers progressive forms of collective identities and political agency in twenty-first century feminist fiction. Katie’s research unites narratology and contemporary feminist theory to consider how writers explore the complex political affiliations of collectivism and articulate modes of politically effective feminism in the contemporary moment.
