I chose to study at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ because of the staff’s expertise. All members of the faculty have a vast array of experience in their field and therefore the networking, expertise, and advice that you can gain from them is unparalleled.
The lab facilities are great as we can utilise the tools that back up our learning and gain lab skills that will be useful in our future careers. Also, the study space dedicated to sport students in the NCSEM building is the perfect environment for independent study.
An element of the course that I have really valued is that the program offers a holistic experience for all first-year students, allowing the choice of which aspects of sport science you want to specialise in and focus on in greater detail later on.
Everyone is provided with a holistic education on sport science, which I believe is necessary for one to excel in this field. Also, having labs every other week for each module is very helpful as you gain hands on experience that backs up the knowledge learned from the lectures.
I have discovered a new sport, Lifesaving! I joined the AU team and it has been a great experience as I can implement my swimming background and have met a great group of people.
I have also utilised the different opportunities provided by the CVA (Coach and Volunteer Academy), to gain some practical experience that will help me in my future professionally.
My advice to prospective students is to take advantage of the CVA and every opportunity that is thrown at you. Join a society or AU club as that’s a great way to find people with similar interests!
