Low income families

We believe that higher education should be accessible to everyone, regardless of financial background.

º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ is a welcoming and inclusive place, thanks to the growing understanding and respect our students have for each other.

We're determined to increase participation in higher education by students from low income families. There is a wide range of financial support options available, making it ever more possible for students to continue their education and gain independence.

Matt's story

After growing up in an industrial town Matt was determined to continue his studies through to Higher Education and make the most of the opportunities that university could offer to him.

º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ is part of the National Collaborative Outreach Programme (NCOP) via Pathways East Midlands. Through this programme, we offer intensive and tailored activities to further support students from Leicestershire and the surrounding counties that have the ability to progress but may be in an area where progression to university is traditionally low.

Our School and College Liaison team organise taster lectures, workshops and seminars to help students explore potential degree courses and career routes. The team can also offer students the opportunity to receive dedicated support with UCAS applications and personal statements. For more details, please see the School and College Liaison website.

At º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ we have a number of undergraduate scholarships and bursaries, some of which provide additional financial support depending on household income. Visit our scholarships and bursaries webpages for more information.
