Arts Scholarships and Music Tuition

LU Arts runs a programme of extra-curricular arts events and activities, which are open to all students regardless of what subject you are studying. This includes an annual arts and music scholarship scheme and subsidised music tuition.

Arts and Music Scholarships

The arts and music scholarships recognise, reward and develop talent in any art form including music, creative writing, performing arts and visual arts. They are not linked to your studies and they are not part of the university application process. Students apply for these scholarships at the start of each academic year.

Each scholarship package includes a cash prize and the opportunity to apply for additional funding to develop your talent further through things like mentoring, tuition and training. There are also opportunities for scholars to perform at and/or organise events to help contribute to the creative life of the University.

Further information, including the online application form and testimonials from previous scholars, can be found on the LU Arts website.

Music Tuition

One-to-one music tuition is available in a range of instruments including flute, guitar, piano, saxophone, violin, viola, voice and woodwind (other). Tuition is available for all ability levels including beginners, but instruments are not provided, except for piano. Tuition takes place in the campus music rooms.

Further information can be found on the LU Arts website.
