Undergraduate tuition fees

Tuition fees are one of the main costs of studying at university.

Tuition fees cover the cost of your teaching, assessment and operating University facilities such as the library, IT equipment and access to study and personal support facilities.

Tuition fees are to be paid at the start of each academic year of your studies and there are several different ways you can pay including online payments and payment by instalment. Most UK students choose to take out a student loan to cover this cost and delay repayment until they have graduated and they are earning a salary.

Tuition fees are reviewed annually by the University and are likely to increase to take into account inflationary pressures. UK tuition fees align with the applicable fee caps set by the UK government, and as such they are subject to changes made to the agreed cap in a specific year.

Degree level courses are allocated into four fee bands. To see which band your chosen course falls under, please take a look at the fees and funding section within our course pages.

The level of tuition fee will depend upon whether you're classed as either a UK or International student. Your fee status will be assessed as part of your application and will be confirmed to you if you are offered a place at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ.

* This also excludes Business with a Foundation Year, Economics with a Foundation Year, and Social Sciences and Humanities with a Foundation Year which have been capped by the UK government at £5,760 for the 2025/26 academic year. This may be subject to change for future years. Prospective students on the Foundation Years in Business, Economics, and Social Sciences and Humanities should be aware of the substantial difference between the tuition fee charged in the foundation year, compared to the tuition fee for subsequent years of the course onto which they are due to progress.

** The Art and Design Foundation Studies is a Further Education (FE) course. Free tuition is available for UK students who are aged 18 and under on 31st August on year of entry. The University will claim these directly from the Education Skills Funding Agency (ESFA).

Tuition fees for the Foundation Year of a degree course may be charged at a lower fee band than the following years. Students progressing from the Foundation Year to the first year of their degree studies may therefore be charged a higher tuition fee in future years depending on their chosen course. An indication of the likely tuition fee for the future years of the course can be found in the fees and funding section within our course pages.
