Eleanor Udall

East Midland Regional Coordinator at England Netball

I am currently the East Midland Regional Coordinator at England Netball. This is the national governing body for Netball in England.

Prior to this I was a Project Delivery Team Officer at Volleyball England.

My degree really mattered as it gave me the knowledge and skills to do the job and have some experience already in some areas of my job role.

Post 16 Education: I grew up in Hong Kong, spent about 11 years there; International Baccalaureate - diploma programme.

Higher Education: BSc (Hons) Geography and Sport Science

Why did you choose Geography and Sport Science?

I loved both geography, sport and biology at school. I couldn’t decide what I wanted to do so I decided to see where I could do both!

What is the Geography and Sport Science about?

It is a joint honours degree where I did half my modules in Geography and half in Sports Science. I focused on Human Geography modules and mostly on the Sociology modules in Sports Science.

Eleanor’s experience as a student

I loved studying at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ.

Everything was close by and there was always something to do. I played rugby for the women’s rugby club at university. During a longer injury I spent a lot of time coaching and volunteering at the Coach and Volunteer Academy (CVA).

I met some of my closest friends through rugby and on sport committees.

Eleanor’s advice

My advice would always be do something you enjoy and look at universities that can offer you more than just a degree.

So much of your university life is outside your academics. Extracurricular, sport, societies, additional qualification opportunities can enhance your university experience, meet new people and add more for your CV later on.

Coach and Volunteer Academy (CVA)

º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ’s Coach and Volunteer Academy provides our students, staff and local community members with valuable sport based coaching, volunteering and leadership opportunities to enhance their experience and personal development.

They offer a range of opportunities for both students and community members to get involved in a number of different strands, all designed to develop and enhance both employability and the softer skills needed for a successful career in the sports industry and beyond.

º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ offers undergraduate degrees in:

Geography, Geography and Management, Geography and Sport Science, Geography with Economics.
