I was drawn to º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ’s MSc in Management because of a strong desire to evolve and succeed, and the University’s reputation for offering a solid foundation in business management. This choice was motivated by an ambition to become a well-rounded professional with exceptional academic and professional abilities. Why did you choose to continue onto further study?
After gaining extensive knowledge and experience in different sectors, including working as an AR Caller to Sales Manager in the reputed banking sector, I decided to pursue advanced education to further develop skills and contribute more profoundly to the professional journey. My enthusiasm for management and commitment to combat consumer exploitation using innovative management strategies and entrepreneurship motivated me to advance my education. This step is integral to my aim of securing a rewarding position in the management sector in the UK.
What were you doing before starting the programme?
Before beginning my current higher education programme, I was working as a Sales Manager at a reputed bank in India. In this role, I led and mentored a team of sales executives, focusing on improving their understanding of products and enhancing their sales strategies through competitor analysis and customer feedback. I also ensured strict adherence to the acquisition process and worked on expanding our market coverage. Additionally, I was responsible for optimizing profit opportunities and team performance, managing resources effectively, and maintaining low attrition rates while ensuring prompt resolution of customer issues. This professional experience laid a solid foundation for my decision to pursue further studies, aiming to deepen my expertise and advance my career in management.
What do you love most about your course?
What I love most about my MSc in Management at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ is the comprehensive structure of the course, which is expertly designed to cater to the needs of management students. Each module has been crafted to cover essential aspects of management, providing a robust foundation in management principles.
My favourite module is ‘Operations Management’. I find it particularly engaging because it's central to the functioning of all departments within an organization. Additionally, the professor teaching this module is very supportive, helpful and has an excellent way of presenting the material. His approach not only deepens our understanding of the subject, but also encourages an interactive and practical learning environment. This has made Operations Management a standout aspect of my education, contributing significantly to my overall enthusiasm for the programme.
What kind of support have you received?
The support I've received from both the department and University during my studies has been outstanding. The faculty has been particularly helpful, offering mentorship and academic guidance, while the career services have played a crucial role in preparing me for the job market. They've provided workshops for resume writing and helped me prepare for aptitude tests, which are vital components of the job application process.
Moreover, º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ hosts one of the largest career fairs, which has been immensely beneficial. I've had the chance to attend multiple events, interact with various companies, and learn directly about what employers are looking for. This exposure has not only broadened my understanding of the job landscape but also enhanced my networking skills, significantly aiding my job search efforts.
How do you find the social atmosphere/postgraduate community on campus?
The social atmosphere and postgraduate community at the University have been exceptionally welcoming and vibrant, greatly enhancing my experience here. From the outset, I was greeted with numerous ways to engage with other students, including clubs, societies and a variety of events. This lively environment has made my time at the University truly rewarding. Attending cultural gatherings and participating in academic seminars are just a few of the activities that keep campus life stimulating. Additionally, serving as a course representative has provided me with a unique opportunity to connect with a diverse group of peers, furthering the University's goal of fostering connections among students. These experiences have not only expanded my perspectives but have also helped me build lasting friendships that I cherish beyond my academic tenure.

My time at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ has significantly enhanced my employability through a combination of rigorous academic training, extracurricular involvement and comprehensive career support. The degree programme itself has provided me with a solid foundation in management theory and practical applications, equipping me with skills that are highly valued in the business world.
Additionally, my engagement in various extracurricular activities, including clubs and societies, has not only honed my leadership and teamwork skills, but also allowed me to apply theoretical knowledge in practical settings, further preparing me for professional challenges.

Workshops on CV writing and interview preparation, along with aptitude test training, have prepared me effectively for the recruitment process. Moreover, participation in career fairs have expanded my network and provided me with insights into what employers seek in potential candidates.

What are your career aspirations after your MSc?
After completing my MSc in Management, my career aspiration is to secure a managerial position within a leading organization where I can apply and further develop my skills in management. I am particularly interested in roles that allow me to enhance business efficiency and productivity through innovative management practices. My goal is to contribute significantly to my employer's success by driving operational improvements, optimizing team performance and implementing effective strategies.
Additionally, I aim to continuously advance my professional development by gaining additional certifications and engaging in lifelong learning within the field of management. Ultimately, I hope to progress to a senior leadership role, where I can shape strategic decisions and have a broader impact on the business landscape.

As a course representative for the MSc Management programme, I have had the opportunity to actively engage with and advocate for my fellow students. This role has allowed me to improve communication between students and faculty, fostering a more inclusive and responsive educational environment. My involvement has not only enhanced my leadership skills, but has also enriched my overall university experience by allowing me to contribute positively to the community.
