My time at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ has equipped me with a profound understanding of the sport for development sector, as well as facilitating invaluable connections with influential individuals who have significantly shaped my career trajectory.

Looking ahead, my aspirations centre around a continued commitment to the sport for development sector. In my current role as an intern at UNESCO, I am contributing to the implementation of the Fit for Life strategy throughout Africa.

With the next African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast and the Youth Olympic Games in Dakar in 2026, the continent has exciting opportunities to foster social and lasting legacies through the power of sport. My ambition is to contribute to these endeavours in my future roles.

Growing up in Cameroon, my passion for sport led me to dream of a career in the sport industry. º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ’s global reputation for sport-related subjects, world-class facilities and the wide range of extracurricular opportunities offered, made the University the ideal environment for my academic and personal growth. Without a doubt, º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ has lived up to its promise.

My undergraduate Sport Management degree provided a solid foundation in how the sport industry works, and developed my passion for sport for development and issues related to equality, diversity and inclusion.

During my degree, I took a year-long placement in Paris, where I served as a Sport Development officer. This experience solidified my passion for sport, enhanced my desire to work in sport for social purposes, and deepened my understanding of sport for development issues, particularly youth empowerment and employability.

I also undertook a summer internship at the French Basketball Federation, where I worked as a Gender Equality and Inclusion officer, before joining their Social Impact Committee.

These experiences led me to my current role as an intern at UNESCO, where I contribute to the Fit for Life initiative with a specific focus on Africa.

Reflecting on my time at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ, I found that there is always someone available to assist you. The academic support and expertise available during my degrees has been invaluable to my academic journey.

There is also support beyond the course, in finding placements or job opportunities, or drafting CVs and cover letters.

There have been countless highlights outside of my coursework and placements. Above all, the connections I forged with people in halls, during volunteering, engaging in social activities and playing for the Women’s basketball team, have become the enduring highlights of my º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Journey.

The people I have met added immense value to my experience. Meeting people from diverse backgrounds - each bringing unique cultures, and discovering common ground that unites us, have been the true essence of my time at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ.

The advice that I would give to someone considering studying the MSc in Sport Management, Politics and International Development is that active engagement is crucial, whether in lectures, seminars, or beyond the classroom.

º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ is unique in offering opportunities to apply theoretical knowledge through on-campus volunteering. Seize these chances. They will help you gain practical experience and expand your network.

Lastly, strike a balance between academics and extracurriculars and don’t forget to plan for the future. You may not have a precise career roadmap yet, and that’s okay. However, it is important to start contemplating long-term goals.
