Current student, International student

My research topic is related to physical education in schools, in particular the analysis of new physical education and health (PEH) curriculum standards in China.

I hope that my research can emphasize the importance of health and promote young people’s health in the PEH curriculum.

Before I began my PhD at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ, I was a postgraduate student studying physical education at Wuhan Sport University. My PhD at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ is funded by the Chinese government, and a scholarship from º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ.

º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ is an excellent place to study. You will not feel alone when you are a studying for a PhD here, it just like a big family. At the beginning of my time here, I was a little bit shy, but the people around me have always been very encouraging and helped me to thrive.

I have almost finished the Literature Review element of my PhD, reading lots of health-related policies and references in PE curriculum reform.

I now have a good foundation of understanding about the status of health in the world, which benefits both my PhD study and early-career path.

During the PhD process, I am not only improving my ability in relation to my research area, but also cultivating my independent and critical thinking.

My supervisor has been really nice, kind and supportive. She has given me lots of confidence and encouragement.

In the future, I would like to work as a university lecturer to teach what I have learnt during my time at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ. I would also like to continue to contribute to my research area via my findings and knowledge.

To help me to build the necessary experience, I have taken on the role of event representative in the research theme Sport, Business and Society in the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences, acting as a liaison between the staff and doctoral researchers.

As part of my role, I arrange the Lunch & Learn sessions, recruiting speakers to build an environment of thorough discussion related to academic research.
