I chose to study at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ because I wanted to be in an environment where elite sport exists and operates in the everyday, as well as due to the historical track record of the University producing world-class professional sports practitioners.

The University’s motto is “Where history is made”, I want to become the best practitioner in my field, and drive towards helping a team to achieve moments of sporting history.

At º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ I have been fortunate to learn from world-leading subject specific lecturers and researchers, whilst also gaining applied, practical exposure and support from experienced professionals all within the University setting.

During my degree I gained experience during a full-time placement role at a Championship First Team club. They created a fantastic development environment for me to explore and develop within the role, whilst also providing the structure to support my development as an analyst. The real-world experience and exposure I gained from my placement was fundamental to progressing in my career and gave me real clarity about how to progress further in my professional and academic future.

I completed both my undergraduate and postgraduate study at the º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ.

The degrees have given me insight and experience into becoming not just a well-rounded practitioner, in terms of subject knowledge, but also enhanced my awareness of the entire sporting ecosystem and how it affects the day-to-day operation of all sports professionals.

The University hosts open and free access to some of the best-in-class facilities for its students, featuring facilities that are greater than the average professional standard in most sports.

Every highlight I have of my time at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ was to do with my friends. From playing an IMS cup final in the University stadium, playing beach volleyball and going for a kick about on the Astroturf in summer, to leading the most incredible group of players as a Coach in the Athletic Union and volunteering through the Coach and Volunteer Academy.

You have the opportunity to completely be yourself at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ and find a group of friends from completely different backgrounds with common interests to form friendships built for life.

My advice for prospective students is to push yourself. Seek out lecturers and practitioners who you are genuinely interested in and work towards gaining further professional experience to support your academic knowledge with applied skills.
