My journey of becoming a student at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ began during the first COVID-19 lockdown. I used this time as an opportunity to reconnect and think about my passions. I attended quite a few virtual events and took part in a lot of engaging, interactive workshops. I have always had a desire to help those less fortunate, but I hadn't quite figured out how I was going to achieve this.

I then came across an event where I heard about topics relating to data-driven problem solving, tech for good and corporate sustainability, and low and behold I knew I wanted to explore more. During my search, I came across an array of newly launched data science courses. I had always heard good things about º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ, so I took the plunge and submitted my application! Now, here I am! My º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ experience so far has been exciting. Although pivoting to virtual is not how I pictured my first semester, it is going well so far! I'm looking forward to meeting everyone in person soon and relishing the experience of º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ for the remainder of the year ahead.

I have a passion for helping others and having an impact on the lives of those who need support. Through the use of data-driven technologies, positive programmes and initiatives are being developed that I would one day want to be involved in. I want to land myself in a data career whereby I can have an impact. There are many data challenges that various organisations need to solve, and I hope I can one day be the bridge to help make a real positive change!

The skills I am currently learning on the Data Science programme are a real mix of STEM and non-STEM disciplines.

I believe these will equip me with the skills to be a well-rounded candidate for any organisation and I hope I will be able to transfer my skills into any data science related role in the future.
