What are the International Exchange programmes?
Find out more about our International Exchange programmes
We encourage our students to undertake a study exchange at one of our international partner institutions, not only so that they can benefit from a high quality international educational experience, but also so that they have the opportunity to live in a country with a different cultural perspective.
We have a selection of University-wide and School-only international exchange partners, although places can be competitive due to restrictions on numbers.
School-only international exchange partners
A number of Schools have their own international exchange partners, for which the agreements are subject-specific.
You can use the search engine on the 'Find a Study Exchange' link below to explore the opportunities available to you.
For further guidance on the international agreements specific to your School, please contact the Exchange Co-ordinator for your School/Department.
When can I go on a study exchange?
Most exchanges take place during Part I (placement year) of undergraduate programmes and last for a single semester or a full year. Depending on your programme regulations, exchange opportunities may also be offered at different times. Your School can provide more details.
How do I apply for an international School-only study exchange?
The deadline for students wishing to apply for a School-only study exchange in the academic year 2024/25 has now passed. For details about how to apply for an international School-only study exchange in the academic year 2025/26, please contact the Exchange Co-ordinator for your School/Department.
Please note that there is a long lead-time for an international study exchange, therefore students wishing to undertake a study exchange in the academic year 2025/26 should submit an expression of interest to the respective Exchange Co-ordinator by the end of the Autumn Term 2024/25.

University-wide International Exchanges
º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ has a limited number of study exchange places with a selection of international institutions in Australia, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Singapore and the USA.
The exchanges are based on a reciprocal student mobility agreement between the two institutions and are offered on a University-wide basis. Competition for places is high, but we would encourage you to look at the international exchange opportunities and make an application through your School/Department early in the academic year. Please contact your School/Departmental Exchange Co-ordinator for further details on the international exchanges available to you and how to apply.
Please note that there is no guarantee that current agreements will still be in existence by the time that prospective students are ready to undertake their exchanges. It is, therefore, extremely important that you discuss your options with your School/Departmental Exchange Co-ordinator.
Follow the link below to discover the University-wide International Exchange partners which are open to all students at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ irrespective of which subject you are studying.
