Eligibility Criteria

The LUDUS Gold programme exists to support high achieving students from backgrounds which are underrepresented in higher education. To ensure that the programme fulfils its aims we work in partnership with schools and colleges to determine which students meet the eligibility criteria outlined below.

Students must meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Live in an area which has a high level of financial, social or economic deprivation. This is defined by home postcode:
    • IMD Quintile 1

We have a postcode checking service to assist in the process of identifying these students. 

  • Eligible for Free School Meals (within the last 6 years) or currently in receipt of/known to be entitled to, Free School Meals, Pupil Premium or Discretionary Payments/16-19 bursary. 
  • Time spent in care (3+ months)

AND meet all of the following:

  • Predicted/achieved 5 GCSEs grades 9-6
  • Predicted/achieved a minimum of grade 4 in GCSE Maths and English Language
  • Attendance at state school/college
  • In Year 12/1st year of college when applying 
  • UK fee paying student (or expect to be upon applying to university)
