º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ HE Unboxed
HE Unboxed is built around a simple concept – develop sessions that showcase how subject knowledge and key transferable skills are both key to future success.
By working in collaboration with our academic colleagues, careers department and employers, we have created a suite of free resources to support teachers to deliver an aspiration raising programme of activity.
HE Unboxed’s primary objective is to help students (particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds) to understand the range of opportunities available to them through Higher Education and to inspire them to continue learning to this level.
The initiative also focuses on highlighting the links between curriculum and careers, showcasing to students the wide range of applications that their studies can lead to. In addition, the boxes allow participants to identify and develop key transferable skills, increasing their understanding of how these can be utilised in both education and the workplace.
There are multiple ways to access the HE unboxed resources depending on individual school requirements. The Subject, Skills and Success resources are couriered to schools upon booking for teachers to use in the classroom, whereas HE Unboxed Global are designed as downloadable resources, for teaching staff and parents to run either in the classroom or in the comfort of a student’s own home.
HE Unboxed is primarily aimed at Key Stage 4 learners (aged 14-16). Each box complements core curriculum topics and helps schools to meet the newly introduced Gatsby Benchmarks.
Boxes are available free of charge and their simple format means that they are easily accessible for teachers and careers staff in all settings.
