Confirming your status as a student
Confirming your status as a student
After you have registered with the University, you may be required to provide evidence of your status as a student, for example, to open a bank account or to claim Council tax exemption. You can download evidence of your student status from Student Self-Service.
New students
You will only be able to download letters once you have completed registration, and have collected your student ID card. Please allow one working day between collecting your student ID card and attempting to download any letters to confirm your status as a fully registered student.
Continuing Students
You will only be able to download letters once you have completed re-registration.
Need a non-standard letter?
From Student Self-Service you can download a letter to open a bank account, to confirm exemption from Council Tax, and a Certificate of Registration which will be acceptable for most requirements.
However, if you require a non-standard letter which cannot be generated via the Student Self-Service Portal, please contact Student Records & Operations, providing as much relevant information as possible including your full name, Student Registration Number and the information you require us to provide and why you need it.
