Mavis Stone Prize for Music

A prize to the value of £200.

º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ the Mavis Stone Prize for Music

A prize, to the value of £200, to be awarded annually to a student who has been receiving music tuition under the auspices of the university for more than one year, and who is judged to have achieved the greatest improvement in their music. The recipient will be selected by music tutors being invited to nominate, in writing, one person who in his or her view has achieved the greatest improvement. A small group co-ordinated by LU Arts' Director will consider all nominations and choose a winner.

When considering nominations, the assessor panel will look to increase the financial impact of the Prize, by paying particular attention to those cases where an individual might be experiencing difficulty meeting the cost of their music tuition.
