Your library account

We hope you have made the most of the Library resources available to you during your studies at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ.

All Library material on loan should be returned as soon as possible after your last examination. The Library is required to notify Schools of any students who have not cleared their Library account by the time their Board of Examiners meets.

  • You can return books in person to the Library using our self-service machines or place books in our drop boxes which are emptied daily.
  • If you are away from campus, you can use our free postal returns service.

Please ensure all books are returned and records cleared by Sunday 23 June 2024. From Monday 24 June, if any books are outstanding on your Library account, you will be invoiced for the replacement cost of the items.

You can check your borrower record by accessing it online via the My Account section of the Library catalogue, through the myLboro app, or on the self-service machines in the Library. Please leave yourself plenty of time to do this in case there is any query and ensure your School knows where to contact you if necessary.

If you have any queries about your Library record or this process, please contact the Library by emailing library@lboro.ac.uk.

You can also call 01509 222360 if you are not able to visit the Library and staff will be happy to check your account for you.

Keep an eye on the Library’s X account and webpages for any further updates.

Alumni access to the Library

Graduates of the University may apply for an Alumni User Card. This enables you to borrow up to eight long loans at a time and is free of charge for the first five years. After five years, you can choose to pay either £10 per annum or pay a one-off lifetime membership fee of £100.

Applications can be made by email at library@lboro.ac.uk.

Access to Mendeley

Please note that the classic desktop version of Mendeley will soon be withdrawn. If you wish to continue using Mendeley, it is recommended that you migrate to the Reference Manager version before you leave. Information on this process is available from the Mendeley Learn module.

It is also recommended that you change your Mendeley username to a generic email address so that you can continue to access the software. This can be done within your Mendeley profile.
