Rowing

Rowing at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ offers a friendly, competitive and social environment and caters for novice, intermediate and elite level rowers. Whether you are looking to challenge yourself with something new, or striving to earn a GB vest, we have what it takes to help you.

Athletic Union Club

We are a completely student run club based at the local boat club, º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Boat club. We enter all BUCS events, heads including WEHORR and regattas including Marlow and Henley. Being a student run club we organise, coach and select our own crews. Our members have come from all backgrounds from GB U23s to complete novices, to create a passionate and close-knit squad.

We currently have approximately 80 members with six teams divided into Novice Men and Women, Intermediate Men and Women and Senior Men and Women.

Training frequency

Depending on which squad you are in, we train three to six times per week on the water plus additional land training. We mainly train at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Boat Club with trips to Nottingham, as well as using campus facilities. Some members also train at Nottingham Rowing club and as part of the GB start programme.

How to join

For more information on how to join our club, come and visit us at the º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Sports Bazaar on campus on Saturday 30th September 2023.

Hall Sport (IMS)

We also encourage you to compete in rowing for your hall in IMS, as there are plenty of opportunities to represent your hall throughout the year. You compete against other halls, and it’s a great way to get involved in hall life and meet new people in a more social and less competitive environment.
