Karate at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ provides two sections, Shotokan Karate and Wado Ryu Karate. Both sections offer training for all levels, novice to pro martial artists alike.
Athletic Union Club
At our karate club, we place a strong emphasis on Kumite (fighting) and Kata. We train and compete under the World Karate Federation (WKF) rules. Our primary goal is to create a fun, competitive, and respectful environment for individuals of all skill levels. We offer comprehensive training programs that cater to beginners as well as experienced practitioners. Whether you're just starting or looking to enhance your existing skills, our club provides a supportive atmosphere where you can grow and improve.
Our instructors are highly knowledgeable and passionate about karate. They strive to instil discipline, self-confidence, and perseverance in our members while ensuring that safety remains a top priority during training and competitions. Over the years, our club has achieved notable accomplishments in various tournaments and events such as BUCS and national competitions. We take pride in the achievements of our members and encourage them to set ambitious goals, providing guidance and support every step of the way.
Training frequency
We offer 4 training sessions a week in the Martial Arts Centre (MAC) located on the university campus, Telford Way, º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ LE11 3UA.
