Fencing

Fencing at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ is a friendly & sociable. We cater for professional, experienced and novice fencers so there really is something for everyone to get involved in.

Athletic Union Club

We have a wide of variety of club members and whether you are competing for your national team, want to pick up a new sport, or fit fencing in with your busy social and academic life, we have something on offer for you.

Number of teams:

We have 4 teams: 2 men’s and 2 Ladies BUCS teams

Men’s: Premier North and Midlands 2A
Women’s: Premier North and Midlands 2A

We also compete in many individual competitions throughout the year in all 3 disciplines: Foil, Epee and Sabre

Our teams provide an opportunity for less experienced fencers to compete and develop new skills.

Training Frequency:

We run two sessions per week and have coaching for novices, so you can quickly learn the basics of any weapon (foil, epée or sabre) and if you are a more experienced fencer, the sessions will help fine tune your skills. We have plenty of equipment for beginners, the only thing you need to get started is your membership.

Throughout the year, there are plenty of competitions you can take part in. Including the Cambridge Winter, Merseyside Open, and BUCS Individuals.

Our teams also compete during the Winter term in competitions such as the Warwick Open, Leicester Open, Birmingham International, and the Senior National Championships.
