Key information
Selection policy
The British Cycling selection policy shall be used to select the fields for the Youth National Series races. Registration for these races are now closed. We we will carry out the process as quickly as possible.
Rider conduct
All riders are expected to race safely. Riders taking gels must return them to their pockets and not litter the course. Bottles should not be discarded. If riders wish to have a camera fitted to their bike, please contact the event organiser to seek approval from British Cycling.
Registration and gear checks
Registration will occur in the event village (near the finish line). Please allow plenty of time for bike checks before registration. Participants in each race do not need to register in specific time slots.
All youth and junior riders must be gear-checked before sign-on / collecting numbers. The gear check will be positioned adjacent to the registration area. The rider will carry out the gear check and overseen by an official. Please ensure that your gearing meets the British Cycling regulations as follows:
Youth B = 6.45m
Youth A = 6.93m
Please note, race management will not be responsible for any adjustments to gearing. In the event that your bike fails the gear check, you will need to make the necessary adjustments and present it back to the gear check for re-evaluation.
Race circuit
All races will take place on our true to name, criterium course, with a steep hill and numerous 90 degree turns to test riders both physically and technically. Only the very best all round riders will cross the finish line first.
Course stats: º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ · Lap Distance: 1.54km · Elevation Gain: 23m
Parking
We ask that all competitors park considerably in the event car park so everyone has enough room. Please use one space per vehicle.
No gazebos are to be erected in the car park. If you are coming in a large vehicle, such as a motorhome or van, and would like some additional space, please park in the overflow car park (this is a 10-minute walk to the HQ).
Accomodation
º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ has several hotels on-site or very close to the event village. Exclusive rates have been obtained for both hotels, and twin rooms are available.
If you wish to book, please book online or phone 01509 633030. The key advantage of booking these hotels is that we have an extremely flexible cancellation policy, which means they can be cancelled until 12 noon on the day of check-in.
FAQ's
I need to withdraw from the race. Am I eligible for a refund?
Youth National Series
The field will be selected using the British Cycling selection policy immediately after the closing date (Sunday 5th May at 23:59). If you wish to withdraw, please contact us prior to the closing date. Once the field has been selected the British Cycling online entry system will request the funds from the participants. We shall not process any refund requests after this date.
Support Races
The fields for the support races will be accepted on a first come first served base.
Is camping available?
Unfortunately, it is not possible to camp overnight in campervans at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ. However, we have arranged an overflow car park for larger vehicles, such as campervans and vans, so you can bring these vehicles on-site on the day of the event.
Is it possible to ride the course on Saturday 27th May?
º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ is extremely welcoming, and the course is always available to view. Please be aware of the speed restrictions around campus. Last year, we witnessed riders taking too many risks the day before the event during the event build.
We are still reviewing the best way to facilitate a course recce. On Sunday 26th, diversions will be in place to allow the course to be built safely. Further details will be available closer to the event. Practice slots will be available on the day of the event. The time slots will be published in the digital event manual.
It's important to reemphasise that riding through a road closure is a serious violation. This is a measure we are implementing for the long-term sustainability of the event. If you are found to have ridden through a road closure, you will be disqualified from starting the following day's event.
We hope you understand we want to keep everyone safe and want the race to continue in the future.
