Student teams

At º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ, we have different levels of cricket, from Performance, who are º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ UCCE Women 1's, AU BUCS, AU Development to Recreational.

Women's Performance Cricket

Our performance programme, led by Head Coach Gareth Davies, is designed to enable our student-athletes to reach their full potential with both their academic and sporting goals.

The programme ensures athletes will benefit from opportunities to train in our world-class facilities and work with coaches with a track record of developing players to the highest level.

Our summer schedule allows players to compete in county and regional cricket as well as for the University in BUCS competitions. Our performance offer:

  • Up to 6hrs of squad and individual training in the National Cricket Performance Centre
  • 2 x Strength and 2 x Conditioning sessions a week (Powerbase)
  • Individual development plans
  • Performance support including physio, nutrition, performance analysis, and psychology.
  • Experienced coaching team with international playing and domestic coaching experience
  • Individual support in and out of season for training and matches

Performance lifestyle support

BUCS 1's

Our BUCS 1st team play in the Women’s Midlands Tier 1 league and enter a team into the BUCS indoor competition during the winter.

 Our performance offer:

-       Up to 4hrs of squad training in the National Cricket Performance Centre

-       Individual development plans

-       Individual support in and out of season for training and matches

-       Access to strength and conditioning plans written for performance

-       Highly qualified coaching team

BUCS 2's

Our BUCS 2nd team play in the Women’s Midlands Tier 1. This year will be the team's first year of competitive fixtures. Players will be given the opportunity to train, compete and socialise within the team and club environment whilst continuing to develop their own personal cricket skills.

Recreational

IMS:

Within hall sports you can play cricket during the summer term. Please ask your hall sports secs for more details on this section of women’s cricket.

Summer Softball:

During the summer term we offer the opportunity for all abilities to train once a week with the focus on a fun environment to promote cricket. Within this you learn some of the basic technical aspects of cricket within game-based practices.

MyLifestyle:

Action Cricket is available through My Lifestyle, which combines fun and fitness and allows everyone to play. The game involves the same principles of cricket but is played at a faster pace where everyone can get involved. This is available throughout the year.
