Looking ahead to the semi-final, obviously playing against Saracens who are probably the most successful team in the women’s Allianz Premier 15s era, it’s going to be a big challenge. Our games against each other have always been a tit for tat affair so it’s sets this semi-final up to be a really exciting game. Both teams play a contrasting game of rugby so it’s important from our point of view to take control of the game early; we’ve shown in previous games against Sarries that we’ve started well but have always had a different second half. We do know there will be lots of points in this game so we’ll need to take control, play in the right areas and take every opportunity we can. It’s great to have a full squad to select from and to go down to the Stone X Stadium with a formidable pack and a really exciting back line that can really stretch teams; I’m looking forward to it.
With spectators allowed this will be the first game for both sides this season with a crowd, which will no doubt add another element to the game. Tickets are still available to purchase via the Saracens website so if you can make it to London your support for Lightning would be much appreciated.
If you can’t make it to the game in person it will be lived streamed by the RFU on the Premier 15s Website, be sure to register ahead of time to watch. BT Sport viewers will also be able to watch the game on the BT Sport app.
