State of the art technology install drives º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ forward

The new Hudl camera

º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ has become the first sporting institution in the UK to install the Hudl Focus camera – a move that will benefit its flourishing Performance Analysis department and further enhance its close working relationship with Hudl.

Installed in the Netball and Badminton Centre on campus, the fully automated camera integrates directly with º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ’s existing Hudl software, allowing coaches and analysts to instantly record, upload and livestream HD multi-angle footage.

The camera will be used extensively with º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ’s performance Basketball and Netball teams, competing in both the NBL Division One and Super League, respectively. Access to the technology will allow the analysis teams to automatically record four angles during training and games through real-time ball-tracking technology.

Furthermore, the camera will allow for games to be automatically live-streamed and will integrate seamlessly with additional Hudl products.

Andy Rhys-Jones, º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Sport’s Performance Analysis Lead, explained:

“To be the first in the UK to install the Hudl Focus camera is hugely exciting and another big step forward in our infrastructure strategy for performance analysis. This will allow us to further develop our excellent performance analysis delivery within both Netball and Basketball, providing live automated multi-angle footage during both training and games.

“Our aim is to continually develop our delivery to both our coaches and athletes, creating an environment where technology best supports the development and performance of teams. I would like to thank Hudl for their continued support with this and for allowing us to be the first to use the product.”

Sam Lloyd, VP of Elite Business at Hudl added:

“We have a strong ongoing relationship with º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Sport, and the addition of Hudl Focus technology will only increase our ability to help them not only win games, but also develop the elite athletes of tomorrow.

“º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ’s sporting department is proven to be one of the best in University sport and Focus technology will enable their teams to capture, share and analyze video and data at an elite level.”

º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Sport and Hudl have enjoyed a long and fruitful working relationship, with the video review and performance analysis specialist first introduced to the performance sports programme at University in 2017.

Hudl’s software is used extensively across our sports at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ and placement opportunities in sports analysis are also regularly advertised through The School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences, and the Coach and Volunteer Academy (CVA).
