With the Six Nations underway, and GB7s in training, both sides will look significantly different this weekend making for what should be an interesting game to watch. For Lightning Lilli Ives Campion, Jess Weaver, Georgina Tasker and Nina Vistisen make the starting line-up for the first time this season, with Bethany Foster, Kendall Waudby and Amanda Swartz looking for their first game day involvement from the bench.
Head Coach, Rhys Edwards, provides his thoughts ahead of the fixture:
“Saracens are going to be, as always, a tough team to beat this weekend. However, our preparation has been solely focused on ourselves and our intent to play. I’m really excited to see the players who are making their debuts, in particular Lili (Ives-Campion) and Georgina (Tasker) who have both shown over the past few months their appetite to improve and their consistency in training indicates a bright future. We are under no illusions that we need to focus on our accuracy this week, but are excited to express ourselves at home.”
As a mark of respect for His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, kick-off has been moved forward to 1pm. The game will be lived streamed by the RFU so be sure to watch to catch all the action.
