Free recreational parks
Look out for purple fenced sports areas across our campus, they represent turn up and play spaces where there's no need to book and everyone can join in.
Dotted across our campus you will find purple fenced areas that allow everyone to turn up and play sport without needing to book. Free to use for anybody who wants to play.
Ball Park
The largest example is our ball park area which consists of an artificial hard court surface designed to accommodate a range of ball sports including basketball, netball, tennis and football, there is something for everyone.
Games Park
Situated on the edge of the student village Games Park is a purpose built recreational area suitable for football, volleyball, rush hockey and much more. The surface is designed to be used throughout the year so there's always the opportunity to make the most of Games Park.
Beach Park
Yes that's right we even have a beach right on campus! Based at Holywell Park near the º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Stadium and made with the same sand that was used for the Beach Volleyball at London 2012 Olympics. You can play beach volleyball on any of our three courts.
At certain times we do have programmed activity on Ball Park as part of our Recreational Sport Programme, but outside of these times the courts are free to use for anybody who wants to play.
Paddock Park
This is our large grassed pitch opposite to the library, where you can turn up and play anytime! Paddock Park is also home to our very own LSU Quidditch Society fixtures, and there is the opportunity to play rounders during the summer using the markings provided.
Active Park
Located in the new Claudia Parsons Hall, Active Park is available for all students to use. You can participate in a range of activities with fitness equipment available including a boulder wall, running track and rebound wall. The My Lifestyle Bootcamp often takes place here throughout the summer months!
