Transferring to a New Course at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Without Completing Current Studies
Generally it is possible to change to a different course as long as it is not at a lower level than your current studies and you will complete the new course before the expiry of your current visa.
If you previously studied with a Student visa on an earlier course:
- the new course must be related to that course, or
- the previous course and the new course in combination support your genuine career aspirations.
Otherwise new visa permission would have to be obtained from abroad before the University can allow the transfer to be completed.
Note: if you are able to change course without changing your visa UKVI generally expect you to complete studies before your visa expires. If you need extra time and visa due to taking a resit year UKVI exceptionally allow you to apply for that within the UK (or outside the UK if preferred). If you need extra time for any other reason, e.g. adding a placement year to the new course, any application for further Student visa permission would need to be made overseas.
