Workstream1: Mandatory Training

Workstream summary: Focused on improving mandatory training rates in the short term and the selection and agreement of a Learning Management System (LMS) in the longer term. We’re enhancing mandatory training compliance with a balanced approach.
What has been delivered?

- Analysed current training data for targeted improvements.
- Engaged potential LMS providers.
What’s next?
- Implement short-term initiatives aimed at improving current training completion rates.
- Select an LMS provider.
- Provide clear training timelines and propose an escalation pathway to support adherence.

Workstream 2: Support the Application of the ISAL Framework in Compliance Areas

Workstream 3: Creation of Resources for “Self-led” Application of the ISAL Framework
Workstream Lead name: John Houghton
Workstream summary: To create resources to allow others to independently apply the Inform, Support, Assure, Lead (ISAL) Framework in their own areas.
What has been delivered?
- First draft of a comprehensive “Workbook”
- Workbook trialled in two compliance areas (Freedom of Speech, Subsidy Control)
- Feedback reviewed
What’s next?
- Implement changes to the existing workbook to reflect the feedback.
- Create additional resources to support the workbook.

Workstream 4: Validation of the ISAL Approach in Compliance Areas
Workstream Lead name: John Houghton
Workstream summary: Validate areas that are already broadly working in line with the principles of the ISAL framework.
What has been delivered?
- Identification of suitable areas to approach.
- Validation that the following areas are following the principles of the ISAL framework: Anti-fraud and corruption.
What’s next?
- Actively approach separate areas to validate the principles of the ISAL framework are being followed.

Workstream 5: Assurance Audits

Workstream summary: Establish a 'business as usual' approach throughout the project.

- Assurance audits delivered through PWC throughout the project.
- Establish the broad requirements of the approach to be implemented.

- Create a detailed proposal for a 'business as usual' approach to assurance audits.

Workstream 6: Policy Development & Management
Workstream Lead name: Luke Vulpiani
Workstream summary: To refresh our approach to policy management. This will involve defining the structure of "What Goes Into a Policy" and establishing clear roles and responsibilities for colleagues and policy owners.
What has been delivered?
- “What Goes Into a Policy” document created.
- Ensuring that policy on the policy gateway are current.
- Establish clear roles and responsibilities for those involved with policy development and maintenance.
- Draft changes to the “Guidance for Document Owners” webpage.
What’s next?
- Review how policy owners are informed about documents that require updating.
- Review if aligning policy update times to set points in the year would be beneficial.
- Changes to the Policy Gateway website implemented.
