Researchers - Conducting your search (In person)

This workshop gives participants the opportunity to develop an efficient search strategy and explore advanced search techniques features, resulting in confidence in conducting a comprehensive search. 

The session builds on the ‘Planning an effective search strategy’ on-demand course and as such it is essential participants have completed this before attending this course. Participants will be actively encouraged to use advanced search techniques to develop and refine their search. The course will explore various search techniques such as keyword, subject heading and citation searching. Specific techniques to retrieve relevant research will also be investigated, for example, proximity searching and nesting. We will consider different AI tools and citation analysis tools that are increasingly being used in research. Participants will be able to practice on a range of subject-specific databases and will gain confidence in finding research material in an effective and efficient manner using the resources available to you at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ, but also in the future too.
