Managing references and data
Given the large quantity of information and data today, in various formats, it is essential to be able to manage, organise and keep control of all the information sources you use while conducting your research.
Managing information checklist
This checklist has a number of tips to ensure you manage your notes, searches, documents and references efficiently.
Managing references
Using reference management software is an efficient way to manage the information you find and create. At º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ we have an institutional subscription to Mendeley. Find out more about how you can import references into your own library and use them in your own outputs in Mendeley in the Managing references with Mendeley module on Learn.
Managing research data
Research data management (RDM) has always been important to ensure that you work efficiently but increasingly funders and publishers require you to share your data. RDM involves planning and carrying out the organisation, sharing and long-term preservation of research data. At the outset of your research project you require a plan with information about how your research data will be collected, stored, managed, shared and made accessible, by whom and for how long. Sensitive and personal data is a special category of research data and requires particular consideration.
On demand training for Research Staff and Doctoral Researchers is available in the Managing information and data section of Research Central on Learn.
