You may access our digital resources from any device wherever you are studying or working. To access resources off-campus, use the University's Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client and Multi-Factor Authentication Where resources require passwords details are shown below the relevant database description.

Architect’s journal resource covering thousands of exemplar projects, most from the last 20 years but including major projects back to 1900.

British Library sounds

British Library's archival sound recordings service provides access to wide range of sound recordings including a dialects and accents section.

Unfortunately for technical reasons it is not currently possible to use ߲Ƶ’s authentication to get access to the restricted sound recordings on this site. Instead please follow the link How to request a copy of a sound recording - The British Library (bl.uk)

British Standards (BSOL)

A standard is an agreed way of doing something e.g.making a product, managing a process or delivering a service. Our subscription covers BS standards and BS EN ISO standards.

To log in please click on the Institutional login link, select ߲Ƶ from the list and log in with your usual University credentials. Please note BSOL documents can only be opened with a plug-in installed on your device (File Open). The File Open plug-in has been installed on University lab machines and is available via the Software Centre to those using the University’s managed desktop service. To download it onto your own device the BSI have provided this guide  Please be aware that the FileOpen plug-in does not support opening encrypted PDFs in-browser. In order to view the PDF, it must be opened in Adobe PDF viewer, FileOpen viewer, or similar PDF viewer applications. Please see section 3 of the guide for further information.

Construction Information Service

Publications from industry and government organisations including BRE, BSRIA, CIOB, CIBSE, CIRIA, Highways Agency and Transport Research Laboratory.

Our subscription does not include British Standards. Please see the British Standards (BSOL) entry listed further down the page for information about access and downloading documents.

An online map and data delivery service which offers a number of data collections, including Ordnance Survey, historical, geological, LiDAR and marine maps and spatial data.

Access to some of the highest quality aerial photography available for Great Britain.

Digimap - Environment

Environment Digimap brings easy access to Land Cover data from the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology. Separate datasets are available for 1990, 2000, 2007 and 2015, all national coverages. Also included are Dudley Stamp’s maps of the 1930’s Land Utilisation Survey of Britain.

Digimap - Marine

Nautical chart datasets derived from UK Hydrographic Office paper charts and chart panels. Also, Marine Themes vector data which covers all UK waters and is a feature rich dataset derived from authoritative material obtained from the UK Hydrographic Offices.

LexisLibrary Construction

LexisLibrary Construction includes leading sources of primary law, consolidated legislation, key commentary and journals.

To log in please click on Use Academic Sign-in (top left of screen) then click on view all institutions and select ߲Ƶ from the list.  If you are on campus or using VPN you will probably be auto-commected, otherwise it will take you to ߲Ƶ's standard sign-in page where you login with your University username and password.

Libby

Widely used by public libraries, Libby provides users with access to leisure reading, wellbeing, and audiobook titles. Content includes ebooks, emagazines, and much more.

To get started, simply download the Libby app, sign in and get reading and listening! 

The app can be downloaded from the app store, or from a link on the Libby homepage. You can also access Libby on your computer’s web browser. When first setting up your account you will need to be on campus or on the VPN. If you need any support, then please contact library@lboro.ac.uk and we will be happy to assist.   

medRxiv

medRxiv (pronounced "med-archive") is a free online archive and distribution server for complete but unpublished manuscripts (preprints) in the medical, clinical, and related health sciences. medRxiv includes research articles, systematic reviews and meta-analyses, clinical research design protocols and data articles.

Preprints are preliminary reports of work that have not been certified by peer review. They should not be relied on to guide clinical practice or health-related behaviour and should not be reported in news media as established information.

Access to the full-text archive of the Royal Society of Chemistry journals.

Covers all areas of chemistry as well as biology, medicine, engineering, material science and more.

Times Higher Education

Online edition of the Times Higher Education covering news, features and commentaries about universities and colleges in Britain and abroad.

To access this subscription you need to individually register with the Times Higher using your ߲Ƶ email address, information on how to register is provided on the Times webpages which also has help on navigating the site and some FAQ’s. Once registered, if helpful, you can opt to sign up to newsletters that can keep you up to date on specific areas of interest.
