On the morning of Tuesday 24th September between 08:00 and 09:30 am, IT Services will be carrying out essential maintenance to replace a failed piece of networking hardware before the start of teaching. There will be downtime to the Wi-Fi and wired network and most key services.
How does this affect me?
Between 08:00 and 09:30 am, users on both the º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ and London campuses will experience periods where there will be a loss of access to the network connectivity and most University online services, including VPN connectivity for users off-campus.
Services will be available from 09:30 am, however, they will be considered at risk until 11:30 am.
The timing of the work has been planned to ensure that we have the full support of our external maintenance suppliers who are available from 08:00 and that it is the best fit for the University.
To prevent equipment failure and prolonged unplanned outages during teaching, it is important to perform this essential maintenance.
We are aware of the hall arrival schedule, have already spoken to members of the team, and we envisage the impact will be limited to the start of the day.
Where can I get more information?
