Time to volunteer
The University has introduced an employer supported volunteering policy as part of our commitment to community engagement and corporate social responsibility.
It is intended to support, encourage and develop you as an employee, by supporting your involvement in volunteering opportunities within the community and for charitable organisations. This support includes help to identify appropriate volunteering opportunities, as well as time off to allow you to get involved in local initiatives.
This policy applies to all substantive members of University staff, and certain terms and conditions apply. For full details, click here
Eyesight testing
Free eyesight tests are available to employees of the University that are users of Display Screen Equipment (DSE).
On request, the Occupational Health team issue vouchers to eligible employees (certain terms and conditions apply) for an eye test at the University’s chosen optician.
If the results of your test show that you require glasses solely and specifically for computer use, then you will be able to claim a contribution towards these from your school/department as well.
