Quarterly Fire Alarm Maintenance (Visit 4 of 4) - Charnwood/Garendon Buildings (55/56) - 16-20 September 2024

Posted: 9 September 2024

Description of the Works

This is the fourth fire alarm visit for the testing year (October 2023 - September 2024) set out by the University's schedule, and requires a visit of silent testing in most areas around the building that we have been unable to access on the previously arranged night shifts due to locked doors.

A period of silent testing will involve a selection of input devices around the building(s) being activated silently.  This will not activate any outputs on the system.  BTS will monitor the system for any real fires and raise the alarm if necessary.

Only 1 of the 8 panels will be tested at a time throughout the week meaning 7/8 of the system will remain fully online.  The 8th panel will be monitored at all times.

Timescale below is a rough guide but not necessarily a definite idea of when the testing will take place due to possible unexpected access issues or faults requiring investigation elsewhere on site.

Note that the weekly test should still take place as usual.  BTS will not be interfering in this process.

Timescale
