How to apply
Here you can find all the information you need to apply for a research degree with the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ.
We understand that choosing to undertake a research degree is a huge decision. Now that you’ve made it, we want to make the process as straight forward as possible.
Look for an existing research opportunity
Start your journey by looking through our list of advertised research opportunities; these are projects which have been developed by our academics. Some of these come with funding already attached and for those that don't, we can help support you in finding it.
...or develop your own research project
If you can't find what you're looking for in our list of advertised projects, you can develop your own research proposal and approach one of our academics outlining your ideas to see if they could potentially supervise your research. Take a look through our research areas to see if they match your interests and academic background.
Check you meet the required entry criteria
Whichever option you decide, check that you meet the required entry criteria. Successful applicants will normally have: an undergraduate honours degree with a minimum classification of a 2.1, or equivalent, in a relevant subject for the PhD topic and have completed their studies in English or have an English Language qualification.
Pre-sessional English courses are available for students to improve their English, and for those who have an offer but have not yet achieved the required IELTS score.
