Robert gained his first degree in BSc Sport, Health and Exercise Sciences at Brunel University London, graduating with First Class Honours in 2020. He then went on to complete a Master’s degree in MSc Social Science Research (Sport and Exercise) with distinction at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ in 2021. Currently, Robert is undertaking a full-time PhD following his passion for research gained after experience as a research assistant.
Robert is an experienced youth sports coach, having worked in primary schools across Kent. He achieved numerous FA qualifications in football coaching and refereeing while becoming a qualified personal trainer during his first degree.
Research
Research Title: Banter and Bullying in Male Youth Community Football
The research aims to explore how banter and bullying are understood, the extent of behaviours within the context and the outcomes as a result of these acts. These aims seek to promote the behaviours representing good practice while also challenging the questionable ones to positively impact participant retention, safety and enjoyment within youth football.
