George graduated from Sheffield Hallam University with a BSc in Sports Science for Performance Coaching, where he also received the Faculty of Health and Wellbeing Prize for outstanding achievement in 2014. Subsequently, George completed his MSc in Sport and Exercise Nutrition at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ. During which time, he also undertook a Performance Nutrition internship at the English Institute of Sport.

Before commencing his collaborative PhD with the English Institute of Sport and British Athletics at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ, George worked as a Performance Nutritionist within the professional and high-performance sport.  Most notably supporting Premier League clubs, British Synchronised Swimming and British Athletics.

Research

Research Title: Nutrition Interventions to Enhance Performance and Recovery in Track and Field Athletes

Project Summary: Optimising performance in competition and enhancing an athlete’s ability to recover between heats is fundamental to achieving medals at major competitions. This PhD, in collaboration with British Athletics and the English Institute of Sport, will conduct performance nutrition research to improve understanding of and inform recommendations for, nutritional interventions to improve performance and recovery in elite track and field athletes.
