Matthew attended UCFB Etihad Campus between 2017 and 2020, where he undertook his undergraduate degree in Football Coaching and Management. Whilst studying, Matthew held various coaching roles in primary schools and in the community. Matthew later completed his master’s degree in Sports Coaching at Liverpool John Moore’s University in 2022. His research project for his Master of Science focused on the topic of care in sports coaching.
Matthew joined the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences as a Postgraduate Teaching Assistant in Sport Pedagogy in 2022. Alongside his teaching role, Matthew will conduct doctoral research under the supervision of Dr Ed Cope and Professor Sophia Jowett.
