Kirsty graduated from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, in 2018 with First Class Honours in Applied Sport and Exercise Science. Following her undergraduate studies, Kirsty went on to complete her master's degree at Liverpool John Moores University where she graduated with Distinction in Exercise Physiology (2019). In 2020, Kirsty started her PhD here at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ focussing on optimising carbohydrate intake for endurance sports and associated gastrointestinal symptoms.
In April 2023, Kirsty was appointed as a Research Assistant working on projects related to Sports Nutrition and Water Balance, under the supervision of Dr Lewis James.
Kirsty has a broad research interest including:
- Fuelling endurance performance
- Reducing gastrointestinal symptoms associated with carbohydrate intake
- Female physiology
- Exercise in hot conditions
- Sports performance
